Computer repair: common questions
Windows repair FAQs: bundled diagnostic and repair labor, extra parts costs, approval before work and appointment availability. Call for pricing.
What computers do you repair?
All Windows-based computers, including desktops, laptops and servers. Tablets, phones, Apple computers and other Apple devices are not serviced.
Are diagnostics and repair labor separate charges?
No. Diagnostics and repair labor are bundled into one price. The labor price is the same whether you need diagnostics, repair labor, or both. Replacement parts cost extra. On-site service at your location has an additional fee. Call for pricing or view current pricing on the scheduling page.
Will I approve the work first?
Yes. Kevin discusses the price and obtains your approval before any work begins. If replacement parts are needed, their additional cost is discussed with you.
Can you come to me, or can I bring my computer to you?
Service is available at your place or mine, by appointment. Call Kevin to arrange the location before traveling. The postal address is for mail, not equipment drop-off.
Is there an additional fee for on-site service?
Yes. Service at your location carries an additional on-site fee. Call for pricing and to confirm the service arrangements.
Where can I see service prices?
Call for pricing, or view pricing and schedule an appointment on our Setmore booking page. Contact Kevin if you are unsure which service to choose.
Can my computer be fixed remotely?
Some software problems can be handled remotely if the computer starts and connects to the internet. Hardware problems usually need hands-on service. Call Kevin first to discuss the issue.
How do I arrange an appointment?
Schedule online or call 210-488-4995. All repairs are by appointment only. Appointments can be arranged at any hour, including overnight, subject to availability.
What should I have ready?
Have your computer model, power supply and any error messages available. Describe what changed before the problem started. If files are missing or a drive is failing, ask for guidance before using recovery tools or making changes. Do not email passwords.
